Roxanna Sherwood

Content Development & Production

Roxanna has more than two decades of experience developing, producing and programming nonfiction television and streaming content. Her roles have ranged from producing and directing to operational and executive leadership positions.  At ABC News for over 26 years, she led some of the biggest brands in network news and played a critical role in shaping ABC News’ streaming strategy.  

She was Executive Producer of the venerable news magazine Nightline from 2014 to 2017 and Executive Producer of Good Morning America between 2017 and 2020. Then, as Senior Executive Producer of Original Longform Content for all ABC News platforms, Roxanna managed and produced highly regarded nonfiction films and series for Hulu, ABC and National Geographic TV between 2020 and 2022.  

Her credits include ABC News’ first original documentary for Hulu, the Emmy-nominated 24 Hours: Assault on the Capitol, the Emmy-nominated Hulu Original GameStopped, as well as the pop culture hit Hulu Original The Housewife & The Hustler. She also directed and produced the 2021 ABC documentary series Mike Tyson: The Knockout.  

Roxanna was honored for her career in media as a 2022 Wonder Woman of New York.  Her awards include eight Emmys and an Edward R. Murrow Award.  She is a member of the Directors Guild of America.

She holds an A.B. in History from Columbia University and an M.S. from Columbia’s Graduate School of Journalism. She is a fluent Spanish speaker.
